BLAUG!(haps)
about this KLAPS
Earlier in the year of 2009, Laura Veirs invited me to record a bit on her new album. Tucker Martine was at the helm once more, and Steve Moore and Eyvind Kang were again going to be a part of what would become July Flame. On my last visit to Portland, I stopped by Tucker's and he burned a copy for me. I'm pretty much smitten with the songs. It's back to Laura's guitar on this record and her thoughtful lyrics are as prominent as ever. I ended up contributing quite a lot to July Flame. I played bass guitar on July Flame, Sun is King, Silo Song, and Summer is the Champion; some saxophone on Summer is Champion and Carol Kaye, sang back up on Where Are You Driving?, Life Is Good Blues, Carole Kaye; one actual duet with Laura on the last track Make Something Good; harmonica and Carol Kaye; and one ripping guitar solo on Little Deschuttes. |
